Early childhood education has been a lifelong passion for Seedlings' Founder Marybeth Doctor. After completing her degree in Psychology and Education at Mount Holyoke College, Marybeth began her career as a Special Education teacher with Teach for America in Phoenix AZ. She later returned to her native New Jersey, and became the Education Director at Playhouse Cooperative Preschool in Essex County. Marybeth then traveled to India, where she taught at an orphanage school, presented parenting trainings, and consulted at an International School. In 2009, Marybeth created Cornerstone School, a dynamic interfaith preschool program in Summit, NJ.

Driven by a desire to provide quality education and care for all children, Marybeth started Seedlings in 2013, when her daughter was just 18 months old. It was a unique privilege to create a program for her own child and to merge her personal and professional lives.

Sara was born and raised in upstate New York before coming to New Jersey where she received a BA in Psychology as well as a teaching certification for preschool through grade 3 from Montclair State University. She has worked in early childhood education for nearly 20 years as both a preschool teacher and an administrator. She lives in Hillsborough with her husband, Ryan and sons Oliver & Thatcher, who are both Seedlings graduates!

Robin has been in the Early Childhood education field for almost 40 years, working with all ages from infants to 5th grade. She has held many positions over the years, from teacher's assistant to head teacher to director, and is currently part of the administrative team as Director of Operations here at Seedlings. For most of her career, she has taught two-year olds, her favorite age group! She began working in childcare in upstate New York, where she was born and raised, and relocated with her family to New Jersey in 1993. She started at this school then and has been here ever since, through 2 previous owners, and now with Seedlings. Robin has four children, ages 31, 29, 20 and 13, all of whom attended preschool here. She currently resides in Manville with her husband, two youngest children and two dogs!
